Durham Public Schools is currently operating under ‘Plan C’
All student learning will be facilitated online and students will remain at home.
When can students return to the classroom?
Families and students should use this guidance to understand what health practices will be in place when students return to school. All public schools will be required to follow certain health practices noted as “required.” Many schools may also choose to implement some or all of the recommended practices.
If the Durham community is able to contain community spread of COVID-19 to below 4 percent for two weeks, DPS will be able to offer a return to the classroom for pre-K and elementary students beginning no earlier than January 21, 2020. Students will come to school in two groups two days a week, participating in Wellness Wednesdays and remote instruction the other three days.
