Young Adult Survey

This survey is for young adults aged 18-35 who attend, or attended, school in the United States.

Parent Survey

This survey is meant for parents of school-aged children and young adults in the United States.

About the Surveys

We are now recruiting participants for a study on the ways people learn about disability rights in education and health. If you can find the time, we would appreciate your completing our 10-15-minute web survey and 10-15-minute media activity. We would also appreciate the chance to talk to some of you about your experiences looking for information in education and in healthcare situations (these interviews can be done as web conferences).

Because we are interested in a variety of experiences, we would like responses from young adults (or parents of young adults) who have disabilities as well as those who do not have disabilities, so please feel free to share this request with your friends or family who might be interested in supporting this work. We hope that you will be interested in sharing your thoughts and reflections about your experiences.

What will you be doing?

If you agree to participate, you will complete a 10-15-minute survey. This survey asks questions on how and when you encounter, find, and use information related to disability in education and your (or your child’s) health. After you finish the survey, you will be given the choice to complete an optional media response activity (approximately 10-15 minutes). If you choose to complete the media response activity, you will watch, read, or listen to information and answer 3 related pre- and post-viewing questions. Some participants will be given the option to sign up for an additional 1-hour web-based interview to talk about their experience finding and using education-related information.

Incentives

Participants may provide an email address (which will be stored confidentially) to receive the following incentives:

Survey: participants who complete the survey may enter to win one of three $50 Amazon.com gift cards for each survey.
Media Response Activity: participants who complete the media response activity will be given a $10 Amazon.com gift card (limited to the first 50 respondents for each survey).
Interview: 10 participants who complete interviews will be given a $25 Amazon.com gift card.
